Right to Information Act No. 12 of 2016
The Right to Information Act, No. 12 of 2016, was enacted to provide the public with access to information. The Act was passed by Parliament on 24 June 2016 and came into force for ministries and public authorities with effect from 3 February 2017.
Under the Right to Information Act, you have the right to obtain the information you require in accordance with the provisions of the Act and to submit appeals in relation to such requests. For this purpose, you may seek assistance from the following officers and the Right to Information Commission.
