The Kirimetitenna Public Library, established on 1 March 1995 for the benefit of the public seeking knowledge in the surrounding areas such as Kirimetitenna and Depalamulla in Balangoda, is currently classified as a Grade III library. Approximately eight thousand two hundred and twenty-five (8,225) books are available and maintained in the library for public reference and use.

About 3 km along the Kalthota road from the town of Balangoda, the Kirimatiyathenna Junction is located. At this junction, the Kirimatiyathenna Public Library belonging to the Balangoda Pradeshiya Sabha is situated.

Library Membership Procedure:

Obtain a membership application by paying the required fee.
The application must be certified by one of the following:
Grama Niladhari of the residential area
Justice of the Peace
Member of the Pradeshiya Sabha
Government Administrative Officer
School Principal (for students)
The applicant must be a resident, property owner, or permanently employed within the Pradeshiya Sabha limits.
General membership fee: Rs. 100. Renewal every two years: Rs. 50.
Children’s membership fee: Rs. 50.
Book Lending Procedure:

Members may borrow up to two (02) books at a time.
Borrowed books must be returned within 14 days.
A fine of Rs. 2.00 per book per day will be charged for late returns.
